Biogenic Soil Sense & Sassrika Lanka Showcase Innovation at the Department of Agriculture’s Hasalaka Agricultural Exhibition

Biogenic Soil Sense and Sassrika Lanka were honoured to participate in the Inter-Provincial Agricultural Exhibition organized by the Department of Agriculture, Hasalaka, under the theme “Isuru Genena Yayaak Thanamu.”

The event brought together the Director General of Agriculture, senior officials from the Department of Agriculture, agricultural extension officers, farmer organizations, technical college students, and hundreds of farmers from the Minipe Project area.

At our exhibition stall, Biogenic Soil Sense conducted live on-field soil testing demonstrations, allowing farmers and agricultural officers to experience rapid soil nutrient analysis and learn how site-specific nutrient management can support better fertilizer decisions.

The live demonstrations generated significant interest among farmers and technical officers, creating valuable discussions on the future of precision agriculture in Sri Lanka.

At the same time, Sassrika Lanka showcased its patented Bio Super Phosphate (BSP) technology, highlighting the role of locally developed fertilizer innovations in improving phosphorus management while supporting sustainable agriculture.

Our team had the opportunity to engage in productive discussions with Department of Agriculture officials regarding future collaboration in soil health, nutrient management, and farmer awareness programmes.

The exhibition also enabled us to establish valuable relationships with many farmers, who expressed strong interest in adopting soil testing before fertilizer application.

Looking Ahead

Following the enthusiastic response received at Hasalaka, Biogenic Soil Sense is planning to launch a “Soil Health Campaign” in the near future.

The campaign will focus on:

* Promoting pre-fertilization soil testing
* Improving farmer awareness of soil health
* Demonstrating rapid field soil testing
* Encouraging site-specific fertilizer recommendations
* Supporting efficient and sustainable fertilizer use
